Quality & Certifications
Our Quality Philosophy
At BTS, quality is not a department – it is how we work. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015, and we hold IPC-A-610 Class II and Class III workmanship standards. But beyond certification, we believe a properly implemented QMS is a practical tool: it helps us manage our processes effectively, deliver consistent results, and create real, tangible value for our clients.
ISO 9001:2015
BTS has been ISO 9001 certified since April 2007 (initially to ISO 9001:2008) and has held ISO 9001:2015 certification since May 2018. Our certificate is issued by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH, Cologne — a highly respected German accreditation body — under DAkkS accreditation. Scope: Manufacturing of electronic and mechanical assemblies and systems.
IPC-A-610 Class II & Class III
BTS has adopted IPC-A-610 Class II and Class III as its workmanship standard for the acceptance of electronic assemblies. IPC is a U.S.-based international trade association providing guidelines and standards for the design, manufacture and acceptance of electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
Inspection & Testing Capabilities
Incoming Material Inspection
Quality starts before production begins. Every incoming batch of raw materials and components is inspected against precise specifications before it enters our production process. Rigorous incoming inspection procedures, combined with effective supplier communication, minimise production scrap and prevent quality issues from entering the assembly line.
100% SMD Inspection
All SMT-assembled boards undergo 100% inspection by one or both of the following methods:
Manual Optical Inspection
PCBs are inspected using high-magnification microscopes with rotating lenses, allowing detailed visual verification of component placement and solder joint quality.
Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
Our AOI system inspects each PCB in real time, detecting:
– Scratches and surface stains
– Open circuits and short circuits
– Solder joint integrity
– Missing, incorrect or incorrectly placed componentsm, AOI catches defects at the earliest possible stage
— reducing the cost and disruption of downstream rework and maximising production throughput.
100% PTH Inspection
All PTH-assembled boards undergo 100% inspection using high-magnification microscopes with rotating lenses, ensuring defect-free solder joints and correct component placement before moving to the next production stage.
Functional Testing & In-Circuit Testing (ICT)
At the end of the production process, a functional test or ICT can be performed according to customer requirements. BTS uses GenRad GR2276 ICT equipment for in-circuit testing, providing electrical verification of assembled boards to customer-defined test plans.
Packaging Inspection
A final sample inspection is carried out on all products prior to shipment, ensuring that only a high-quality, defect-free product reaches the customer.
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Statistical Process Control is applied extensively throughout BTS production processes. SPC uses statistical methods to monitor and control processes in real time, ensuring they operate at full potential and produce conforming product consistently — not just batch by batch, but across the life of a production run.
