BTS offers a complete Electronics Manufacturing Services solution. From initial design review and material procurement through to assembly, testing and delivery, we handle the entire production cycle – so you don’t have to. Whether you need a handful of prototypes or a high-volume series run, our Malta facility gives you the precision of a specialist EMS provider with the flexibility of a focused team.
The heart of our manufacturing capability is the Siemens Siplace SMD line. BTS operates two CS modules and one CF module – developed by Siemens specifically for flexible, high-mix manufacturing environments with variable lot sizes and rapid product changeovers. Our SMT technician was trained at Siemens in Munich and at our sister company Dumps Electronic in Germany.

Reflow Soldering
Following SMT placement, boards pass through our SMT Quattro Peak C3.5 N² reflow oven – a 7-zone system (4 pre-heating, 2 peak, 1 cooling) configured for both lead-free and leaded assemblies. The oven is profile-tested weekly to ensure complete control of the temperature curve.
Selective soldering delivers consistently superior results for complex assemblies and heat-sensitive components – results that manual soldering and conventional wave soldering simply cannot match in reproducibility. BTS has invested in a Ersa Versaflow 40/50 selective soldering system, equipped with a second single-wave module that doubles throughput.
Key characteristics of our selective soldering process:
- Consistent, lead-free solder joint quality at any volume – high or low
- DPM (Defects Per Million) significantly reduced versus manual soldering
- All dynamic and static parameters – solder level, wave height, temperature, N² blanket, pump offset – fully programmable and continuously monitored
- Maintenance-free electromagnetic solder pump: constant flow rate, no moving parts
- Precise, adjustable wave height for exact solder definition
- Complete documentation of all individual solder parameters
- No costly aperture tooling required
BTS provides full support for hardware and software development, from Design for Manufacturability (DFM) review through prototype build to production-representative testing.
